Our signature My Food is Health program is one of the most cutting edge nutrition programs, designed to help you improve your symptoms, labs and relationship to health and food. Our team of functional medicine dietitians was created to help clients receive the personalized approach that they truly need to reach their health goals. In just 10-weeks, we help you get in the driver’s seat of your health. The program is led by functional registered dietitian nutritionists and is supported by a community of others on their own personal health journeys.

Our program is designed to help you improve your symptoms, your labs and your relationship to health. We help you decrease inflammation, improve the health of your gut microbiome, and improve your blood sugar - all in a practical way that will fit into your life.

We’re thrilled to start our next group soon and wanted to take a moment to answer a few frequently asked questions about the program.

I’ve done Weight Watchers, Noom, etc - How is this program different?

Our signature program is personalized to you, includes comprehensive lab testing and comes with a very supportive community led by Registered Dietitians with a board certification or masters degree in functional nutrition. We don’t teach you how to count calories or assign points to various foods. Instead, we focus on nutrient-dense meals that help you feel good and decrease your symptoms.

What conditions can this program help improve?

Our clients have seen improvement in such a vast spectrum of symptoms. For context, some of the most common improvements have been seen in:

  • Energy
  • Blood sugar, including status of pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes
  • Inflammatory markers
  • Skin health, including rashes and hives
  • Sleep
  • Gut health, including bowel regularity and acid reflux
  • Sinus and congestion
  • Aches and pains

Will I lose weight?

My Food is Health is not a weight loss program. We are focused on improving symptoms and getting to the root cause of health issues. Nevertheless, many of our clients lose weight as a side effect. In the 10 weeks, our average weight loss is 8.9 lbs and a 1.41 inch reduction in waist circumference. When making your personalized plans, we take your body composition goals into consideration.

Can I do this program if I’m pregnant, breastfeeding or planning to get pregnant?

Yes! It is actually an optimal time to make sure your nutrient status is in a great place. Taking charge of your own health and creating an optimal environment can help support a healthy pregnancy and postpartum experience for you and the baby. However, during the 5-day ProLon fasting-mimicking program in Week 3, you will follow a different plan to address your nutritional needs.

What if I’m traveling during the program?

That is more than fine! We have had plenty of clients traveling out of the country, for bachelorette parties, for family vacations, for work trips and more, during the program. You can always delay implementing your plan until it works for your schedule or make modifications while on vacation.

Do I have to follow the program perfectly for it to work?

It’s important to follow your plan most of the time but one of the key things we talk to our clients about in this program is shifting mindset around food. For example, if you eat something that’s not on your plan, don’t beat yourself up about it and spiral into suboptimal food choices the rest of the day; instead, move forward and make a nourishing choice at the next eating occasion. Focusing on how you’re going to feel after you eat (vs maybe that first bite moment) will help you make choices that not only fuel you, but support you in feeling good mentally as well as in reaching personal health goals.

What is included in the cost of the program?

The program cost includes

- A personalized health plan created by your registered dietitian nutritionist based on your labs

- A 5-day fasting mimicking meal kit to kickstart your health transformation that you’ll complete with the group in week 3

Will I be given recipe ideas?

Yes! Your personalized meal plan will include recipes and inspiration.

Is there a lifestyle component of this program or is it solely nutrition?

While nutrition is incredibly important, there is always more to the story. Within the 10-week program, we talk about ways to support movement, sleep and stress-relieving practices. All of these lifestyle pieces play a key role in helping to reach your personal health goals.

Does the program include one-on-one sessions?

The program does not include one-on-one sessions but you will have your own functional medicine registered dietitian who will review your in-depth intake form, food logs and any prior labs in addition to your lab results from the program to create your own nutrition and supplement recommendations. You are also able to message your dietitian throughout the course of the program for questions and support. If you would like to continue to work one-on-one with one of our dietitians afterwards, we do have the option to do so with our Sustain program.

What labs do you run during the program?

We run a comprehensive organic acids test that looks at nutrient deficiencies to all of your vitamins and minerals, in addition to urinary gut health and detoxification markers. You’ll receive a 13-page report of nutrient deficiency lab results. If you have any other labs that have been done, we recommend that you upload them so we can account for them in your personalized planning.

Do you accept insurance?

Unfortunately, we do not accept insurance. However, depending on your plan, you may be able to use your Health Savings Account (HSA) to pay for the program. If you plan to use your HSA, please reach out to [email protected] to request an invoice to submit for reimbursement.

Do you have a few testimonials to share?

Since starting My Food is Health, I've only had one migraine! I'm sleeping extremely well at night and my 3 p.m. energy crash is gone. I'm proud to say that my mindset around food has changed! I don't think of food as good or bad anymore. For the first time, I'm giving myself grace when I eat something less optimal. It’s extremely freeing and feels very sustainable!

I see a HUGE difference in my gut issues, I'm sleeping 7+ hours per night, my inflammation is down significantly, I've lost 13 pounds and I hardly ever crave sugar. I've achieved all of this while completely changing the way that I view food and shifting away from my all or nothing mindset. This has been such a life-changing experience.

Following a well-defined plan, support from my dietitian and scientific explanations has helped me sleep better, improve my GI health, decrease my acid reflux, feel more energetic, and relieve joint pain. I'm turning 75 soon, and this program proved to me there isn't a timeline on health!

My joint pain has virtually disappeared since starting My Food is Health. I also have less bloating, have lost 5 lbs and am sleeping much better! I love that this program has given me the information and sustainable habit changes that will help me achieve better health long term.

I was hesitant to sign up for MFIH, because I thought I knew everything about healthy eating. But I couldn't have been more wrong. This program helped me understand the importance of metabolic health, accountability, and personalized nutrition. My digestion is totally back on track, and I can feel my gut issues healing on a deep level.
