How it Works

The My Food is Health personal health program is designed to help fight inflammation and mitigate chronic illness, change your relationship with food, and inspire confidence through personalized, evidence-based nutrition plans and coaching. Here’s how it works:

Ready to invest in your health? Fill out your application, and our team of registered dietitian nutritionists will determine if our personalized nutrition program can help transform your health.

Conduct at-home lab testing.

Once you’ve been accepted to the program, we’ll send you a mail-in blood and urine test kit that will help us get to the root of your issues. Your lab results will uncover nutrient deficiencies, levels of inflammation in the body and gut health.

Complete a personal health assessment.

After your lab testing, you’ll complete a thorough health assessment. Your registered dietitian nutritionist will then review your health history, symptoms, diet, lifestyle, health goals, lab results and more.

What’s included in the My Food is Health program?

When you’re accepted into the My Food is Health program, you get:

  • A mail-in blood and urine lab kit to assess your health and nutrient levels. You’ll receive a 13-page report of nutrient deficiency lab results. 
  • A personalized health plan created by your registered dietitian nutritionist based on your labs.  
  • A 5-day fasting mimicking meal kit to kickstart your health transformation that you’ll complete with the group in week 3.
  • 11 weekly virtual group coaching calls led by your functional health practitioners for support, Q&A, and nutrition coaching.
  • Weekly health and nutrition virtual education modules with downloadable handouts, research, and implementation guides.
  • Messaging support with your registered dietitian nutritionist. 
  • Recipe and grocery shopping guides.

How much does it cost?

My Food is Health is one of the best investments you will ever make for yourself and your health. When you join the program, you’ll not only get a personalized health plan created by a functional medicine registered dietitian based on your unique biology, but you’ll also get a roadmap for success and powerful community support. The cost to join is $2,450, collected as a one-time payment or three monthly payments of $850.

Do you accept health insurance?

Unfortunately, we do not accept insurance. However, depending on your plan, you may be able to use your Health Savings Account (HSA) to pay for the program. If you plan to use your HSA, please reach out to [email protected] to request an invoice to submit for reimbursement.

Can My Food is Health help improve my health condition or disease?

The My Food is Health program is designed to teach you about the direct connection between optimal nutrition and health. Our registered dietitian nutritionists use your health history, symptoms and lab test results to develop a plan unique to your specific health conditions, symptoms and nutritional gaps. With a carefully curated nutrition and supplement plan, we use food as medicine to help fight inflammation, balance blood sugar, address nutritional deficiencies, restore gut health and heal the body.

We’ve helped clients with health conditions like pre-diabetes, acid reflux, IBS, IBD, high cholesterol, joint pain, autoimmune disorders, PCOS and infertility, migraines, and much more. After completing the program, 100% of our clients report improvements in sleep, digestion, joint and muscle pain, stress levels, mood, weight, food cravings, self-confidence and overall mindset.

I applied to a past program but wasn’t able to complete the program at the time. Do I need to apply again?

Yes. We review each candidate for each new program. Health history and symptoms can change, so we need an updated application for the specific program you want to join.

When does the next program start and end?

The next program begins on February 27, 2025 and ends on May 23, 2025.

When is the last day to sign up?

The next program begins on February 27, 2025. All applications must be submitted by February 14, 2025 in order to be accepted into the program.

What happens once I sign up?

Once you’re accepted into the program, we’ll send you a link to our private online platform where you’ll complete your personal health assessment to help our functional health practitioners create a health plan that is unique to you. On the first day of the program, you’ll receive your first online education module, which provides a step-by-step process for using food as medicine in your day-to-day life. You’ll also receive your mail-in blood and urine lab kit to assess your health and nutrient levels.

Can I do the program if I have a special diet like vegan or Paleo or if I have food allergies/sensitivities?

Yes! Our registered dietitian nutritionists will account for your special dietary needs when creating your personalized health plan and will offer additional support and guidance on your potential food triggers.

I don’t spend a lot of time in the kitchen. Will I still be successful with this program?

You don’t need to spend a million hours in the kitchen to see results! We provide helpful resources like grocery shopping guides and simple recipes that empower you to prepare and nourish your body with optimal food. We also teach you our proven strategies for making optimal choices while eating out.

Can I do the program if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

Yes! Taking charge of your own health and creating an optimal environment can help support a healthy pregnancy and postpartum experience for you and the baby. However, during the 5-day ProLon fasting-mimicking program in Week 3, you will follow a different plan to address your nutritional needs.

Some of my family members’ dietary needs are different from mine. Will it be difficult to accommodate their nutritional needs as well as my own?

Meeting your personal nutrition needs is vital to improving your health, and those needs may be different from some of your family members. We’ll provide the tips and support you need to structure your meals so that you aren’t making five separate dinners each night!

What is the fasting mimicking meal kit?

The fasting mimicking meal kit is from ProLon. It was created by Dr. Valter Longo to nourish your body while keeping it in a fasting state. The 5-day fasting mimicking program has been shown in research to support longevity, improve metabolic health, and help reduce cravings. You’ll receive your ProLon kit at the beginning of the program and will follow the 5-day protocol in Week 3. *Please note that some people may skip this step based on personal health history.

I have a history of an eating disorder and an unhealthy relationship with food. Do I have to do the 5-day ProLon fasting mimicking diet?

Our registered dietitian nutritionists carefully review each individual’s health history to create a personalized nutrition plan unique to their needs. If you have a history of disordered eating, our nutritionists will create a special plan for you to follow in Week 3 during the ProLon fasting mimicking program.

What is the time commitment each week?

You can expect to dedicate about 2 hours each week to watching the educational videos, reviewing the materials, and participating in the weekly group coaching calls. If you’re unable to attend a coaching call, you can watch the recording on our private online platform at your convenience.

When are the shared nutrition appointments with the functional health practitioners?

Shared nutrition appointments for the February 2025 program will be every Wednesday at 12pm ET beginning March 19, 2025.

What if I’m unable to attend one of the shared nutrition appointments?

If you miss one of the appointments, you can watch the recording later.

What do we do in shared nutrition appointments?

The weekly appointments led by our registered dietitian nutritionists are so powerful! Every week, we come together to discuss your wins and struggles to help you feel more encouraged, supported, and able to identify opportunities for improvement. We dive deeper with more education on the specific topic for the week, and you can ask any questions about the information from that week’s education module.

How long do I have access to the education modules?

You’ll have ongoing access to the modules even after My Food is Health ends. The accompanying handouts, grocery shopping guides, and other materials are also downloadable so you have them for life.

Can I join the program if I live outside the US?

Due to federal regulations and limitations with our vendors, we're unable to support clients outside of the United States and Canada at this time.
